Healthy ACTs
We are recruiting for a research study at USU that aims to test a new, brief program called Healthy ACTs. If you are eligible and choose to participate, we will ask you to complete a brief screening survey and baseline survey which includes completing two food diaries. You will then be randomly assigned to either the treatment condition in which you will work on the program and receive coaching over the next 5 weeks, or to a waitlist condition in which you will be provided with the program after a period of 9 weeks. You will then complete a post-test survey (5 weeks after baseline) and a follow-up survey (9 weeks after baseline). While participants randomized to the waitlist will receive the online, self-guided portion of the Healthy ACTs program after 9 weeks, they will not receive coaching phone calls.
If you choose to participate, you will receive a $15 Amazon gift card after completing the baseline survey and program registration, another $25 Amazon gift card after completing the post-test survey, and another $35 Amazon gift card for the follow-up survey.
Each survey will take approximately 25-45 minutes to complete. Each session of the Healthy ACTs program will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete, along with two coaching phone calls which will each take 30 minutes. Thus, it will take 3-4 hours total to complete the entire program over a 5-week period.
In order to be eligible, you must:
- Be ≥ 18 years old
- Currently be living in the U.S.
- Be experiencing heightened levels of stress
- Be able to access the internet via computer, mobile phone, or tablet
- Have an interest in using an online program to improve healthy eating
