Examining Daily Patterns of Psychological Inflexibility

This study is seeking participants to complete a mobile phone assessment study that is completed entirely online and through text messaging. You will be asked to: 1) complete an online baseline survey, 2) complete brief surveys on your phone when prompted (three times a day) by text for a week, 3) complete a follow up survey online at the end of the week. These surveys will ask you about your emotions, current coping methods, and your engagement in meaningful activities.

You will receive up to 3 SONA research credits for your participation in this study:
  • 1 credit after completing the baseline survey
  • 1 credit after completing the mobile phone surveys throughout the week
  • 1 credit after completing the follow up survey that will be emailed to you
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: SONA showed an upcoming deadline for Part 2 of this study, but I haven’t received all 7 days of text messages yet. What do I need to do to meet the deadline?

A: SONA will automatically assign a deadline for Part 2 of the study, but you can ignore this. Within 2 days of enrolling, you will begin receiving daily text messaged surveys for 7 days. After the 7-day period has passed, you will be granted SONA credit for your participation. There are no additional steps to take.

Q: SONA notified me to visit this website in order to complete my participation for Part 2. How do I complete Part 2?

A: To complete Part 2, respond to the daily texted surveys. SONA requires us to provide a link for each part of the study, but there is no survey to be completed from a computer for Part 2, so the link for this webpage is used as a placeholder.

Q: I haven’t received any text messages yet. Why?

A: You should receive text messages within 2 days of enrolling in the study. However, if you signed up on a Friday or on the weekend, you may not receive text messages until Tuesday. If you have not received any text messages within that timeframe, contact Kory Klimczak at k.klimczak@aggiemail.usu.edu for help.
