Audiological and Psychological Functioning in Healthy Adults

Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time to psychological research!

The ACT Research Group is conducting a study examining psychological and audiological functioning in healthy individuals!
Please complete this brief questionnaire to see if you are eligible
If you are interested and eligible, you will attend a 45-minute appointment in the Sorenson Center on the Utah State University Campus, where you will undergo a short audiological test to assess the peripheral functioning of your inner ear (takes one minute per ear). You will also be asked a brief series of interview questions at this time. Lastly, you will also complete a survey online that may take you approximately 30-minutes. The broader purpose of this study is to better understand the characterizing features of individuals with certain sound sensitivities!

Participants who complete all study procedures will receive $30 as an Amazon Gift card or in cash depending on your preference.

To be eligible you must
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Speak English
  • Have no hearing complications (e.g., have normal hearing)
  • Not feel bothered by or sensitive to certain repetitive sounds like chewing, breathing, or tapping
  • Not receiving or seeking mental health services for a current mental health problem

For questions, please contact the study coordinator at [email protected] or (385) 955-1049.
