Valued Living: An ACT Intervention for Autistic Adults

This study is now closed. If you have any questions please contact Kory Klimczak  at [email protected].

We are recruiting for a research study at USU that aims to test a new six-session mental health program called Valued Living. If you are eligible and choose to participate, we will ask you to complete a brief screening survey and baseline survey. You will then will be instructed to work on the Valued Living program over the next 6 weeks, and then complete a post-test survey (6 weeks after baseline) and a follow-up survey (10 weeks after baseline). We will also invite 15 participants that complete the 6 session program to participate in a 30-45 minute phone or Zoom interview.

If you choose to participate, you will receive a $5 Amazon gift card after completing the baseline survey, another $20 Amazon gift card after completing the post-test survey, and another $20 for the follow-up survey. Individuals that also participate in a phone or Zoom interview will earn an additional $30.

Each survey will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Each session of the Valued Living program will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete, and we recommend doing one session per week. Thus, it will take 3-4 hours total to complete all 6 sessions over a 6 week period.

In order to be eligible you must:
  • ≥ 18 years old
  • Currently living in the U.S.
  • Self-reported as receiving a medical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or consider yourself to be an autistic person
  • Are a legally independent adult
  • Can access the internet via computer, mobile phone, or tablet
  • Have an interest in using an online mental health intervention

This study takes place entirely online and does not require any face-to-face contact. For more information please click the link above or contact the study coordinator at [email protected]
